Guidelines for Writers & Photographers

Sierra Heritage AT HOME Magazine is a resource guide for home design, construction, remodeling and decorating in the greater Sacramento, Sierra foothill and Lake Tahoe/Reno region. The goal of this beautiful magazine is to draw readers into the AT HOME experience and thereby the services and products of our advertisers, the resources. This is accomplished by weaving a tapestry of magnificent photographs, interesting, informative articles and attractive advertisements.

Our advertisers and/or their suppliers and manufacturers provide a good portion of AT HOME's editorial content and complementary professional photography. An advertiser may choose to write their own editorial or refer us to one of their suppliers, who most likely will have articles and photography readily available. Regardless of the source, we look for articles that are informative and well written in a plain, conversational style. We like articles that invite the reader into the story. Facts need to be carefully researched for accuracy. The editorial staff may edit, abridge, augment and title the articles received for publication in AT HOME.

Beyond articles and accompanying photography, we are always on the look out for photography to accent all sections of the magazine. Again, we turn here to our advertisers and/or their suppliers for assistance, because each photograph we use provides yet another opportunity for us to showcase an aspect of their business. We encourage all advertisers to submit photos on their products/services for consideration.

For the cover of AT HOME, we look for the breathtaking beauty of a designer home, a stunningly decorated room, an outdoors living scene, etc., that displays originality and technical excellence. The cover requires a vertical format.
