About Us

Sierra Heritage Magazine, established in 1981, provides its readers a wide spectrum of interesting and entertaining articles, stories and photography on life in the Sierra and its foothill communities. Features include recreation, history, nature, wildlife, restaurant and book reviews, pioneer diaries, personality profiles, weekend getaways, family activities and environmental issues.

The editorial content is beautifully complemented by award-winning, color photography and black and white historical photography. Our vision is to draw readers into the experience by weaving a tapestry of magnificent photographs and captivating writing.

In each issue we try for a balanced blend of articles about the old and the new. Our aim is to inspire a sense of appreciation for the heritage and beauty of the region - and in that way seek to ensure the preservation of both.

Our publications today include: Sierra Heritage Magazine, covering the Sierra region for the past 25 years, Sierra Heritage AT HOME, a home design and decorating magazine for northern California and the greater Sierra region, and several regional visitor guides.
